Year 8 students and the Year 8 Lockdown Team, took up the 100 step Challenge for JDRF, the charity that funds research to treat, prevent and cure type 1 diabetes.
We set ourselves a goal of a minimum of 100,000 steps a day between both staff and students!
In total our big goal was to reach 5 million by the 28th February.
This condition affects 400,000 people in the UK, with over 29,000 of them children. Incidences are increasing by about four per cent each year and particularly in children under five, with a five per cent increase each year in this age group over the last 20 years. JDRF aims to create a world
without type 1 diabetes. Until that day, your support is vital to help fund world-class research, improving treatments until JDRF finds the cure.
Please continue to support us and JDRF by sponsoring our JDRF 100 step Challenge for the next few weeks.
