Dear Families,

I am delighted to let you know that visitors to the school continue to share how positive and engaged our students are. It was lovely to see Yr8 out in the precinct, practicing their graph skills and sharpening their mental maths and discussing the Coram Boy story in English. Yr7s learning about the respiratory system and having fun as they learned about exercising and its effects on cell activities. Students in Food Technology shared their delights with the fantastic ‘toad in the hole’ they made by accurately following a set of written instructions only. Students replicating the values of Kindness, Respect and Determination in and out of lessons. Such and many more treasured experiences make me proud to be lead our excellent school, we are all working to meet the vision of our school – to be the best version of ourselves

I would like to share that we welcomed the support of the Action Your Potential team. We are trialling a programme of support with their team to support families and students, starting with Yr11 focusing on Build Future You. The purpose of this support is to listen to students and help them in developing a better understanding of themselves, building powerful habits that improve their lives and help develop skills that will help them in being successful adults. I will keep you updated as the programme grows to include students from Yr7 to Yr11.

You will be pleased to know that we maintain a high record of attendance. Your support with encouraging students to come into school is hugely valued. I will re-iterate, should they feel unwell, our qualified staff will contact you and work with you to ensure students are supported. Time off school creates gaps in students learning and disadvantages students. Attendance, reading and talk are the backbone of all we achieve. Thank you to parents who reached out to me over the fortnight; I am keen to work with families and help address barriers together. Please continue to ask If you need support in getting your child to school ON TIME.

I also wanted to draw your attention that following parental feedback, the contact page on our school website has now been updated so your queries will be directed to the correct person/Department. Schools are busy places, so do allow a period of 2 days for staff to respond, Thank you. You may still wish to call the school as well; the Reception is supervised from 8:00am to 3:30 pm Monday to Thursday and 8:00am to 3:00pm on Fridays.

We look forward to welcoming Yr11 parents for the Parents Evening on Thursday 23 January. This is an important time to review progress and set structures and revision plans in place to allow students to beat the first mock exam grade. Your time in supporting teachers in keeping our students on track is vital and much valued. Thank you.

Finally, I am grateful to all parents who have responded on changing our length of school week. I just wanted to remind you that the deadline for volunteering for this consultation is Wednesday 22 January. I will contact interested parents regarding meeting times/dates individually.

Thank you for your continued support and I wish you all a safe week ahead.

Kind regards.

The Rights Respecting School Ambassadors would like to thank all of the students, staff and families who gave so generously to this year's RRSA Christmas Hamper competition. Each tutor group did an amazing job and creating and filling a Christmas Hamper for local families in need. The RRSA ambassadors have now delivered all of your kind donations to the One Church in Emsworth. They are helping over 100 local families in need over Christmas so all donations will go to a good cause.

The Award for the Christmas Hamper with "most items" goes to 8MPE with 130 items, great work from that tutor group.

The Award for "best design" was harder to judge but the students eventually votes for a 1st and 2nd place Hamper.
1st place for best design was 11JNE (Christmas Tree Box)
2nd place for best design was 10PTA (Santa Claus)

Thanks again to all for the amazing support, have a relaxing Christmas.

We are delighted to share some great news on the final week before Christmas!

Our school has been recognized with not one, but two fantastic awards: the Silver Award from the GlobalSchool Alliance and the Intermediate International School Award from the British Council. These achievements reflect our ongoing commitment to embedding global learning into every aspect of our school community.

Building on the foundations laid by achieving the Bronze Award from the Global School Alliance and the Foundation International School Award from the British Council in 2023, we are proud to see our efforts continuing to be celebrated. These awards celebrate the hard work of our staff, students, and wider community in promoting international understanding and collaboration.

We are proud and excited to add these new recognitions to our achievements and look forward to continuing our work with both organisations and our partner schools around the world. Together, we’ll keep building a globally-minded school for our students.

Year 7 students of French have been working on writing their Christmas card to their new pen pals in France. The secondary school we have a partnership with are located in Caen in France. I am absolutely amazed at the effort our students have put in writing and decorating their cards.! Their pen pals will be thrilled to receive them when they come back from their Christmas holidays. Well done year 7!
