Dear Parents & Carers

We are blessed to have such glorious weather but it is important that students have water bottles to stay hydrated.  Please encourage them to use break and lunch times to refill them from water fountains.  Sunscreen would also be helpful if handy.

Just a reminder that Year 10 end of year exams will commence from Monday 26 June.  These will be our students’ first experience of formal exam conditions.  Please encourage all Year 10 students to revise regularly in Bitesize.

Thank you to parents who made time to see me this week.  Just a reminder that you can make an appointment for any Monday from 3.15-5.15pm.  These can be virtual if you prefer, please email office@bourne.org.uk to arrange an appointment.

Wishing you all a restful weekend.

Kind regards

Mrs Sharma

Year 10s Conduct Infiltration Survey to Enhance Flood Resilience

Students from Year 10 have recently completed an infiltration survey aimed at assessing the rate at which water penetrates various surface types. The survey focused on both impermeable and permeable surfaces, providing valuable insights into how these surfaces could affect the school's flood protection measures in the future. By looking at how well different surfaces absorbed water, students have found ways to help the school better prepare for floods.

Year 7's Creative Geography Project: 'Biome in a Box'

Year 7 students showcased their creativity and hard work in Geography this term with an exciting project called 'Biome in a Box.'

The project challenged students to design and build miniature models representing different biomes from around the world. From deserts to rainforests, students used a variety of materials to bring their chosen ecosystems to life.

Teachers were amazed by the students' effort and enthusiasm. The detailed models showed not only artistic skills but also a deep understanding of the unique features of each biome.

Well done to all Year 7 students for their fantastic work!
