Dear Parents & Carers

This is just to let you know that I have made the difficult decision to leave the Bourne Community College next summer, after 22 years here, as I am moving onto pastures new, personally and professionally.

I have spent some wonderful years here at the Bourne and I feel very privileged to have been part of a wonderful school. I have enjoyed seeing so many of our students develop and shine over the years and become amazing young people and I am also proud of how the school has expanded, not only in numbers, but also in facilities and opportunities for all our students in the area.

I would like to sincerely thank you all for your support and partnership during my Headship and I am extremely grateful for this. Your support and input has been vital to ensure the very best for our young people and I know that will continue.

It will be very sad to leave next summer, but I know that whoever takes over, will take the Bourne from strength to strength in the years to come. The Governors will keep you informed regarding my replacement.

Warmest thanks for all your support over the years.

Kind regards

Yvonne Watkins
Head teacher

This week, our students took part in important road safety assemblies led by Paul Quinnell, covering the safe and legal use of e-bikes and e-scooters.

Many people are unaware of the laws surrounding these vehicles, including the age restrictions and where they can legally be ridden. We encourage all families to take a few moments to discuss these rules at home.

Children should only be riding on the road if they have developed the knowledge and skills to do so safely, such as through cycle training. Without an understanding of the rules of the road, the consequences can be life changing.

Road safety is everyone’s responsibility. By working together, we can help keep our young people safe.
