Our More Able students had a fantastic day at Goodwood Forest School, developing teamwork, resilience and outdoor learning skills in a beautiful woodland setting.
Working together, they successfully erected a tarp shelter to protect us from the elements, before learning how to build and manage their own fires to help create a main campfire. In groups, students prepared hot chocolate, bread dough, crumble topping and apples for a delicious campfire feast.
They then practised their whittling skills, carefully shaping sticks to cook their dough over the fire, creating their own woodland sausage rolls. The day was topped off with homemade apple crumble cooked in a Dutch oven over the open fire, served with warm custard heated on the campfire.
