Dear Parents & Carers
I regret that COVID and sickness are hitting our staff and as a result, I am going to have to ask that some year groups stay at home for the next few days with online learning set by my teachers.
This is the plan for next week:
Monday 24 – Year 9/10 to be taught at home with online lessons set by teachers.
Tuesday 25 – Year 7/8 to be taught at home with online lessons set by teachers.
Wednesday 26 –Year 7/8 to be taught at home with online lessons set by teachers.
Work will be available on Go4Schools.
Any problems with passwords, please contact ictsupport@bourne.org.uk
We hope to have all year groups in school by the end of the week, but this will be dependent on the numbers of staff available and we will update you as soon as possible.
Updates for this week:
Government guidelines on face coverings
From Thursday 20 January: face coverings are no longer recommended in classrooms and teaching spaces for staff and students in year 7 and above. They were introduced in classrooms at the start of the spring term as a temporary measure.
From Thursday 27 January: face coverings are no longer recommended in communal areas for staff, and pupils and students in year 7 and above.
We still need to be careful re: hand sanitising and hand washing – just because masks are not being worn in class does not mean COVID has disappeared.
School Production – our next school production will be ‘Bugsy’ with performances planned for w/c 14 March and we are looking forward to seeing the result of all the hard work from the students, Mrs Cammack and Mrs Scott. More information about tickets and dates to follow.
Inset Day – our final Inset Day of the year will be on Monday 25 April 2022.
Good news – I am delighted to let you know that Mrs Alice Hardwick has been appointed my Deputy Head and has already made a great impact in her new role. Mrs Hardwick will work closely with me and the rest of the Leadership team, to take the school forward.
With kind regards
Yvonne Watkins
